Embraer — Aerospace Engineering Systems

Aircraft on runway

Role

Software Engineer at Embraer — the third-largest aircraft manufacturer globally, producing commercial, military and executive aircraft.

What I built

  • TechData Web Portal serving 50+ engineers for aircraft technical documentation (Java, XML, Oracle, SAP integration)
  • WebTasks intranet portal automating 15 technical manual workflows using PHP, Shell Scripts, and Perl — eliminating hours of manual processing daily
  • 8-node Linux cluster for distributed job processing, improving batch performance by 300% for engineering simulation data
  • Progressively moved from technical publications into core engineering systems by automating every manual process I encountered

7 years of engineering discipline

Embraer taught me what it means to build systems where failure is not an option. Aircraft documentation has zero tolerance for ambiguity — every technical publication follows strict specifications before any content is produced. This was my first exposure to spec-driven thinking at enterprise scale, years before AI made it a methodology.

What I learned

At Embraer, you don’t ship code that ‘mostly works.’ If the spec is wrong, the plane doesn’t fly. That mindset — specify first, verify always — shaped every system I’ve built since.
